Dennis Bryant  - Owner

Dennis Bryant, owner of Bryant Renovations, is a qualified, licensed carpenter with over 30 years experience.  He grew up in Vancouver and worked alongside his carpenter father. After earning his BA degree at Simon Fraser University and spending five years working with emotionally disturbed teens, he returned to carpentry.

For eight years Dennis co-owned Vancouver’s Raincoast Construction Ltd, a very successful design/build firm that specialized in premium residential renovations.  He was also involved in constructing a demonstration house at the University of British Columbia to showcase renewable energy, a focus Dennis has maintained for years.  He developed a residential hydro-electric system and other energy efficiencies for an off-grid project he both designed and built. Currently he incorporates as many energy-saving features into renovations as possible.

He moved to Toronto in 1986, and began to offer his expertise in quality renovations in a different way to both residential and commercial clients.  In Toronto Dennis proposed the large, recently installed solar hot-water heating project for the multi-unit building he lives in.  He participates in the Downtown West Multi-unit Solar Energy Project, which studies and advocates for solar energy efficiencies.

Dennis has a passion for fine carpentry—just ask him about dovetail joinery, crown moulding, period restoration, or clean-edged 21st-century styling.  That passion and exacting detail is brought to every project his company undertakes.  Dennis continues to update his knowledge of building trends and best practices with courses through private academies and professional organizations, such as BILD

About the approach he fosters in Bryant Renovations, Dennis says, “The more authentic and transparent we can be with our clients, the more they gain both a fine renovation and the understanding that we respect their home and opinions and that we are working honestly with them to achieve their goals.”

Dennis suggests that people in the initial stages of seeking a contractor phone him at (416) 260-0818, link to our Renovation Procedure Page, there you'll find lists of questions to ask prospective contractors, in order to make an informed choice.  He is also happy to refer people to objective websites that give more detailed information, if they wish.

Dennis has sat on community boards of directors and has volunteered his time as a Boy Scout leader, as a teacher of T’ai chi, and as a children’s ski instructor.
